Just wondering what tests Assessors use when completing a Voc Assessment.  I most frequently use:

    Wonderlic or TONI-3

    WRAT-5

    CAPS

    Hello Mary,

For aptitudes, I like using the Valpar Pro-3000 and the CareerScope. Both these tests are computer administered and can be used remotely. The Pro-3000 can also measure academic skills, which I supplement with the WRAT-5. For interests, I use either CareerScope or Career Cruising. When meeting in person, I also rely on Valpar work samples and parts of the GATB.

I also use WRAT-5 and CAPS, but use the STRONG for interests.  I will have to look into CareerScope though!

    Hello Tammi,

Things I like about CareerScope’s aptitude test battery is that they use GATB factors, which directly correlate to the NOC. Instructions are at a grade 4 level, so it is easier for ESL clients. It is self scored and can be completed in about 30 minutes. One downside for me is that the battery is bundled with an interest inventory using the GOE codes. I would prefer Holland codes and the option to give the aptitude and interest test independently.

With the WRAT-5, I typically only use the sentence comprehension subtest, as I get other academic achievement scores from Valpar Pro-3000. None are perfect tools unfortunately.
