    Hello!

What are the guidelines on using temporary work through agencies in the unajusted profile. I have a client who worked with a temp agencies for a year. Within that time frame, they have done multiple sporadic temporary roles for a number of employers, some last days, others a weeks. All roles were administrative in nature (i.e., reception, data entry, admin, etc.).

    Good morning Manel,

I would look at the cumulative time spent in a given occupation to determine if the person has met the SVP (Specific Vocational Preparation) requirements. You can take into account any related school training the person may have completed. SVP can be found in the DOT or in the O*NET, under the category of Job Zone. For example, receptionists have an SVP of 4 (3 to 6 months of work experience, according to the DOT and a Job Zone of 2 in the O*NET, which is equivalent to an SVP of 4 to 6 (a few months to one year of work experience). If nothing in your client’s work and training amounts to more than a few days or weeks, I think it will be hard to justify how they meet the qualification profile for any single occupation. It could be still be said that the person has accumulated enough general administrative work experience to qualify for entry-level administrative work, a fact supported by their employment record.
