    Hello dear colleagues,

I wanted to let you know that I facilitated a meeting today between ESDC and Mr. Paul Goldman at IRP Canada, a psychometric test publisher based in Montreal, to discuss how to adapt a test to the OaSIS. The purpose of this meeting was to introduce Mr. Goldman to the people in charge of the OaSIS and to facilitate collaboration between the two parties.

I think we had a fruitful meeting and one of the main discussion points was how a normed distribution can be applied to OaSIS ratings, which are criterion referenced (most psychometric are norm-referenced and ill suited to criterion-referenced scales). There was consensus that this can be achieved and to that end, ESDC has agreed to provide IRP Canada with copies the Canadian Rating Guide and assistance from their economist, Mr. Louis-David Côté. Mr. Goldman expressed an interest in adapting their existing CFIT ability test battery for use with the OaSIS and this meeting was a good first step in getting this project on the right track. I will provide updates on this project as they come.

In the meantime, your comments and questions are welcome. What do you think are the main challenges and solutions in developing a test suited for OaSIS? What OaSIS factors do you think are most important to measure in vocational rehabilitation?
