    Hi All,

I’m hoping to gather insights on using the KBIT within vocational evaluations. Specifically, how can the results of the KBIT guide recommendations for the length of training programs, assuming there are no referral constraints? For example, if academic, aptitude, and cognitive results align, is it feasible to recommend an occupation requiring university-level training, or are there limitations within vocational evaluations on the level of training we can recommend? Additionally, any literature or resources on this topic would be very helpful.

    Thank you advance!

Hello Jennifer, I don’t have specific experience with the KBIT, so I will address your question in general terms. If you look at the career handbook, you will see that the vast majority of occupations that require university education also require a high average to high level of general learning ability. The same thing applies for occupations that require college education; the majority require an average level of general learning ability. So I think you can use this as a guideline when recommending post secondary education for a person. you will probably see the same trend in the OaSIS.
