Hi!  Essential Skills remains available for complexity ratings but is incomplete (Front Desk Clerk??).  OASIS will have Skills for Success but not yet and unclear of complexity or some other synonym for demand will be included.  ORS doesnt capture the info and O*Net describes technology in occs but does not rate it.  Anyone have ideas about a database that offers some type of rating for IT use by occupation?

    Hello Peter,

I assume you are referring to Hotel Front Desk Clerks (NOC 64314) and not Front Desk Clerk – Except Hotels (NOC 2016 1414.6)? If so, you can find the old essential skills profile with ratings for Digital Technology here: https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/essentialskillsresults/30. If you were referring to NOC 1414.6, it is found here under Receptionists and Switchboard Operators: https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/essentialskillsresults/163.

With OaSIS, it gets a little more complicated at this time, as the Canadian Ratings Guide has not been published yet. For NOC 64314, you could refer to the following factors:

Interacting with Computers (proficiency/complexity scale) – under Work Activities
Digital Literacy (proficiency/complexity scale) – under Skills

On a separate note, I ran into an issue last week, with an ABI client who has sensitivity to computer screens. I needed occupational data on frequency of computer use but unfortunately, OaSIS does not provide a frequency scale for interaction with computers. I have asked ESDC if they can add this information.

    Cheers!
